ACSES

What is ACSES?

ACSES is a classroom quality measurement and improvement system that helps Federal, State, and local system leaders who want to achieve equity-centered, high-quality early learning environments that promote positive experiences and outcomes for racially marginalized learners by increasing classroom teachers’ capacity to deliver equitable learning opportunities and discipline, and to bridge socio-cultural connections with students from diverse backgrounds. This is in contrast to traditional quality oversight measures which ignore important differences between the learning experiences of racially marginalized and non-racially marginalized learners and provide limited information on cultural responsiveness and inclusion.

We recommend reading the book before attending the training, but please note it must be purchased separately. After the training, participants will take a test and must pass to earn their ACSES Rater Certification. ACSES Raters can score with the tool but cannot train or coach others on its use.
